Group work

Groups can be an effective way of supporting clients to become self-employed. By bringing together groups of clients who wish to create and sustain successful businesses, you can enable them to access resources, support, guidance and contacts. Learning from others’ shared experiences is a valuable aspect of group work. Your role includes being a facilitator as well as providing information. As such, you will engage with the client group in a collaborative exercise, enabling people to be proactive and initiating. A group environment can greatly enhance clients’ understanding of and reflection on their business development.
