Working with communities to develop enterprise

Role of Business Adviser

Your approach to advising lone parents on self-employment needs to be a holistic one. Lone parents are not only setting up in business for themselves, but also for their children. The risks involved in moving into self-employment are perceived as greater for lone parents, as the prospect of a business not succeeding may threaten the well-being of their children. You will achieve better, more sustainable results for your lone parent clients by developing a relationship with them that enables them to feel supported, keep motivated and to continue with setting up the business.
